Chinatrust Philippines and National Book Store Foundation, Inc. (NBSFI) recently turned over a fully-refurbished library and over a thousand books to Victoria Homes Elementary School (VHES) in Muntinlupa City, one of the beneficiaries of its "Better Readers. Brighter Future." program. As part of the initiative, the two companies select deserving public elementary schools to be recipients of well-chosen books written by Filipino authors and a library refurbishment package. Prior to the turnover, employees of Chinatrust and NBSFI trooped to VHES and dedicated a weekend of painting and restoration of the library and its facilities. During the turnover ceremony, VHES Grade three (3) student Knyeth Dela Torre displayed her storytelling skills to the delight of her classmates and guests (from left) Dr. Dominico Idanan, Department of Education OIC Schools Division Superintendent; Mark Chen, Chinatrust president and CEO; and Trina Licauco-Alindogan, National Book Store Foundation, Inc.
